Blubooks was founded by two friends and colleagues who shared a passion for accounting, eCommerce and ping-pong. We’ve now grown into a fun-loving group of number crunchers who never take ourselves too seriously. We love a good joke, and a cold brew on a Friday afternoon. Open Positions

Accounting Associate

• Hybrid remote in Vancouver, BC • Full-time • Remote Friendly



We are a growing cloud accounting company that services businesses around the world!

We handle primarily bookkeeping and sales tax for US and Canadian businesses but our clients are from across the globe.
‍
You will be given a full portfolio of clients managing the monthly bookkeeping cycle and client communications. We work collaboratively as a team but you will be the primary point of contact.
‍
The clients are primarily in the eCommerce industry but also in marketing, coaching and influencers.

Culture is really important to us and our clients! We love to travel, we love to work remote and we also typically will meet in person at least once a week whenever we are in the same city.

Off site working together in various tropical places (Costa Rica, South East Asia, Europe etc) is also planned and coming soon!

All our communication and work is completed virtually, however we often work together in-office because we enjoy it and find it to be efficient! Working remotely is flexible after the role is mastered.

Fully remote is possible in short term periods; we are avid travellers and love the idea of working from amazing places around the world. We typically recommend durations of 1 - 2 months at a time but this is flexible! We work mainly out of Kitchener and Vancouver.

We are happy to train and get you up to speed on the client specifics, however a base knowledge of accounting principals and the softwares we use is required for this role.

We will require:

• Xero / Quickbooks experience
• Sage 50 and NetSuite is an asset but not required
• Fundamentals of Accounting

Benefits after a 3 month probation period. Less than full-time is also possible for the right candidate / circumstance in life.

Sales Tax Associate

• Hybrid remote in Vancouver, BC • Full-time • Remote Friendly



This is an exciting time to join our company, as we are growing rapidly! We're looking for a Sales Tax Associate that can hit the ground running from day 1.
‍
We will train on the specific nature of the clients and the software we use but you must have a good amount of accounting experience to pull from.
‍
This role in particular will grow in responsibilities quickly so we are looking for someone hungry for a spot on a growing team.
As a Sales Tax Associate you will be responsible for assisting non-resident businesses looking to grow a presence in Canada. We help register, and help file on an ongoing basis. This role involves analyzing sales tax data, preparing accurate tax filings, and providing support during audits.
‍
Some of us work from the office in Vancouver, and many of us work permanently remote. We sometimes get together for special events but which are optional but encouraged.
‍
Qualifications
• Great communication skills for communicating with partners and clients
• Quick learner, ability to absorb registration requirements.
• Excel is our best friend - you need to be strong in Excel to manipulate large data files.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
‍
Optional
• French fluency is an asset (We speak to Revenu Quebec occasionally)
• Bench Accounting alumni is an asset
• Experience with QuickBooks, Xero or other popular financial software
